Welcome to The Gap Ward
May I welcome you to The Gap Ward and I hope you will enjoy living in this very special area. I have lived in the Council Ward of The Gap for the past 38 years and this has been my twelfth year as Councillor for The Gap Ward. The Ward has many unique features which contribute to its attraction, in particular the Enoggera and Ithaca Creeks, which, along with the foothills of Mount Coot-tha and Brisbane Forest Park, form the boundaries of the Ward.
Save Our Waterways Now (SOWN) is one of the most significant on-going projects in this Ward whose long-term goals are the rehabilitation of Ithaca and Enoggera Creeks. There are many ways you can support this project, either by becoming a member or, if your property backs onto the creek, becoming an active volunteer in helping to restore both creeks back to their original condition. You will find more information about SOWN on their website www.saveourwaterwaysnow.com.au
I will be delighted to represent you should you have any concerns of a Council nature. Areas of Council responsibility you may wish to discuss include:
Buses Development Dogs and Cats
Footpaths/Parks Libraries Rates/Sewerage
Roads Traffic Water Supply
It is important to me that residents are able to contact me at all times and I have included my mobile phone number (0414 265 847) for your information. The Gap Ward Office email: thegap.ward@ecn.net.au
